The Heritage throw is recognised with the international Red Dot Award. The jury says: “Woven from 100 per cent wool in a combination of waffle weave and herringbone weave, the Heritage Throw blanket is particularly pleasant to the touch. The differing textures also create a vibrant appearance, with a design that was inspired by an antique floor clock with carvings. Strong colour contrasts and fringes of varying lengths on the long and short sides complement the fresh reinterpretation of traditional craftsmanship.”
Ornamentation in our time
The ornamentation has been brought into our time. The squiggly and rich design language is still present - this invites the viewer to drift of into the pattern and let their mind wander. Small precious pockets in time. Heritage is a wool blanket produced at Grinakervev in Norway, based on Norwegian traditional craftsmanship.
“To honor the ornamentation and its lushness, I have chosen to add more of everything, both colors and different textures, and thus stimulate as many senses as possible.
In Grandma's old cabin is a pine floor clock that has fascinated me all these years. It exudes a calm and purity, even with all the detailed carvings. I want to bring these traditional ornaments into our time, give them new life in a different form. ”

The use of older weaving techniques, such as waffle weaving and herringbone, has been chosen to create a contrast between the classic and the modern. By only allowing the waffle pattern to appear in parts of the organic pattern, it becomes like a small window into the future and back into the past.
The blanket was a finalist in the design competition and part of the exhibition by Håndverk Pluss og Fram, with the theme "interpreting ornamentation in a contemporary product", October 2021.
